  • According to the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), New Zealand has slipped from 14th to 16th largest wine producing country in 2017 after being overtaken by Hungary and Brazil.

    In 2018 wine production rose in Italy by 14%, France by 27% and Spain by 26%.Italy has been the largest wine producer since 2015 when it overtook France, now in second place. Spain is in third place, while Australia maintains its fifth position.
