Nestled in the heart of Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Huset Restaurant is a historic venue with a legacy of excellence. For decades, it has served as a cherished gathering place for both locals and visitors. Today, under the creative direction of Spanish chef Alberto Lozano, we are transforming Huset into one of the Arctic’s most compelling gastronomic destinations.
Our wine cellar—established in 1979—is among the largest in Scandinavia and has earned the prestigious Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence (2 Glasses). As part of our passionate team and in collaboration with our Restaurant Manager, Mr. Maxime Resse, you will help elevate the experience by sourcing wines that perfectly complement our Arctic-driven cuisine.
At Huset, we tell a story—one that unfolds across a 14-course tasting menu inspired by the landscapes, ingredients, and culture of Svalbard. Each dish is shaped by what nature offers us seasonally, thanks to close collaboration with local trappers, fishers, and foragers. Our commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from minimising food waste through local partnerships to repurposing kitchen oil into eco-friendly soap.
Through Nordic techniques and time-honoured preservation methods, we craft an experience that captures the essence and purity of the far North.
