ABOUT US:

With 5 deluxe rooms and 10 suites, Vila Joya is thoughtfully embedded within the protected natural coastline of the Atlantic Ocean. Under Chef Dieter Koschina’s inspiration and guidance, Vila Joya was the first restaurant in Portugal to be awarded two Michelin stars. However, more than just a food and wine connoisseur’s dream, “House of Joy” or “Jewellery Box” in the original translation is home to beautiful gardens, breathtaking views, simple yet understated elegance, and discreet luxury.

We Are Hiring: Senior Sommelier (m/f/d)

Are you a seasoned sommelier with a refined palate, outstanding leadership skills, and a passion for the art of wine and food pairing? Do you thrive in the world of fine dining and uphold an unwavering commitment to excellence? If so, we invite you to join our distinguished team as a Senior Sommelier.

At Vila Joya, we take immense pride in delivering exceptional cuisine, paired with an extensive and meticulously curated selection of wines from around the world. • Completion of relevant education or certification programs, ideally including sommelier training or WSET Level 3.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and create lasting impressions.
  • A proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Strong organisational skills and the capacity to maintain a clear overview during busy service periods.
  • Natural leadership qualities, with the capability to help guide both the sommelier team and the broader service team.
  • A detail-oriented approach to wine service, always striving to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • A collaborative spirit, thriving in fast-paced environments with flexibility and adaptability.
  • An open and inclusive mindset, with the ability to integrate smoothly into a diverse and dynamic team.

What We Offer You:

  • An inclusive work environment at our renowned location, celebrated for outstanding service and a prestigious reputation.
  • A dynamic team spirit—demanding excellence to bring out your best, while remaining compassionate and supportive when needed.
