We are looking for a: Assistant Junior Sommelier f/m/d

Description of the position:

The Waterside Inn is:

an awarded Michelin-star family-run restaurant with rooms, a steadfast team of staff, and a dedicated Chef Patron, Alain Roux, at its helm, always looking to the future yet remaining true to its founding principles.

As an Assistant Junior Sommelier:

Reporting to: Mr Frederic Poulette the General Manager

Salary: Competitive salary from £ 35,000 a year plus Tronc.

Hours: Working Week Wednesday to Sunday lunch-time – 55 hrs a week.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Head Sommelier in developing our food and wine pairings and providing wine knowledge and training to the Front-of-House team
• Assisting in management of our 1300-bin wine list and cellar, all of which are available by the glass
• Being the face of The Waterside Inn in the restaurant. Delivering our ethos and values to ensure a memorable customer experience
• Providing the attention to detail that we need to push standards forward
• Ensuring high levels of customer service at all times to always meet our guest’s expectations to enhance and maintain The Waterside Inn reputation
• Building a strong product knowledge so our food, beverages, and ethos can be communicated to guests.
• Working with the FOH management and kitchen to ensure clear communication to enhance the guest experience

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of relative Michelin star experience required
• The English language is essential.
• EU Settlement Status required if applicable.

Growth:

The successful applicant will be provided with a good competitive salary with Tronc (based on experience). Depending, on your work performance there is a possibility of promotion and growth.

Rest Days:

• All day Monday’s & Tuesday’s and Sunday evenings
• Staff Set Annual Holidays: Summer 2-week holidays from the 14 August to 28th August.
