We are currently seeking a passionate Sommelier to join our team.
In this role, you will articulate and drive the wine vision at Auberge du Pommier, inspiring both guests and the front‑of‑house team. You will play a key part in delivering exceptional service, guiding guests through our diverse wine program, and supporting the daily operations of one of Canada’s most respected dining establishments.
The Role
As Sommelier, you will be a leader on the floor, connecting our French‑inspired cuisine with a thoughtful, dynamic beverage program.
Leadership & Vision
Responsible for the overall wine vision
Lead staff training and development in wine service, food pairings, and service excellence
Perform opening, mid, and closing manager responsibilities
Support day‑to‑day restaurant operations including staffing, cost controls, training, budgeting, and active floor management
Guest Experience
Assist guests with beverage selections, guiding them through our diverse wine program while always putting the guest first
Share food knowledge and deliver service rooted in emotional connection and culinary excellence
Creative Pairing & Collaboration
Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and kitchen team to create inspiring wine and food pairings
Stay informed on industry trends, product innovation, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through tastings and events
Operational Management
Other duties as required
Management of wine inventory and costing
What We Are Looking For
Post‑secondary diploma/degree in Business or Hospitality is an asset
5 years of hospitality experience, preferably in fine dining, as a sommelier
Minimum WSET Level 3 et CMS Certified equivalent
Passion for food, wine, and culinary excellence
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable workload
Availability for shift work including opens, mids, closes, weekends (including Sundays), and holidays
Will work both ALC lunch & dinner services and private events
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Education: WSET 3 or equivalent, such as CMS certified or Diploma of Sommelier
